Tråd: ABBA 40th anniversary reunion?

I missed the historic victory in Brighton back in 74, must have been out playing with my mates, but have of course seen it since, and have followed Scandinavia's - and one of the world's - most succesful pop groups all the way up. They broke up in 82 and have refused reunions ever since, turning down a reported billion dollar offer, even. Now Agnetha moots the possibilty of a full reunion to mark the 40th anniversary of "Waterloo" next year. Scalpers are going to have a field day. How much are YOU prepared to pay for tix? I'll go as high as £100.

Swedish pop legends Abba are considering a reunion to mark the 40th anniversary of the release of their first hit Waterloo.

Agnetha Faltskog, who formed the band in 1972 along with guitarist and songwriter Bjorn Ulvaeus, said the project was an option being mulled over by the group.

Faltskog, 63, told the German weekly newspaper Welt am Sonntag: "Of course it's something we're thinking about.

"There seem to be plans to do something to mark this anniversary in some way but I can't say at this point what will come of them."

She admitted that the fact all four band members were getting older made it increasingly difficult to get back together.

"I cannot imagine that we would go on stage with crutches," she said.

Faltskog released a solo album - which featured a duet with Gary Barlow - in May after a nine year hiatus from the music industry.

Waterloo propelled Abba to Eurovision success in 1974.
