VG/fair (bottom of the spine bumped affecting all the pages inside, four corners bumped and rubbed, boards peeking at two corners, top edge slightly soiled, short 1940 gift inscription on FFEP, dust jacket tattered with small pieces missing).

NY: MacMillan, 1942. 1st. 4to (11-13"), xviii, 290pp, 237 color and b&w illustrations on 59 plates, additional pencil drawings of the characters reproduced throughout, cloth. VG+/VG+ (upper corner slightly bumped, some age toning; DJ edgeworn with several small pieces missing, some staining to the two upper corners of the DJ).

An attractive copy of this seminal book on the Disney Studio in its golden age. The author conducted his research in Hollywood between June 1939 and May 1940 during the production of Pinocchio and Fantasia, two high points of the studio and prior to economic retrenching during WWII.
